The day program runs Monday through Friday with a drop off time of 8:30am and a pick up time of 3:30pm. The program provides a safe, nurturing structure that is divided into four quarters separated by snack breaks and an hour lunch period.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Technology
3:00 pm – 3:30 pm – Pick Up
At My Place we realize that all our members are unique and will have different areas of strength. For this reason we have selected topics for each quarter that can be easily modified to accommodate most functioning levels. Some other exciting things we offer are laughter yoga, musical guests, bowling and a weekly art program hosted by a recently retired High School art teacher.
The Program Manager has over 25 years experience working with exceptional youth and adults. All staff are first aid trained with a degree or diploma in a social services or a related field and have experience working with exceptional adults.
After School Program
The After school program runs 3:30pm to 7:30pm Monday through Friday and will also host Monthly Saturday social events. This programs focus is primarily social, recreation and respite.
This program can also be utilized by day program members who wish to extend their day at My Place for social or respite purposes.There will be knowledgeable staff and volunteers to assist with homework, resumes or job searching for those who wish to do so
The program is equipped with multiple computers, tablets, a play station as well as board games. There is a large common area for socializing as well as a semi independent game room and a semi independent computer room for those members who require a lower level of supervision and support.
Social Events
The Saturday social events are most often family incisive as they promote families mix and mingle. It encourages networking, sharing of experiences and recourses as well as gives families an opportunity to meet the peers and families that their loved one shares their days with. It is meant to create a sense of peer support amongst families who may be encountering similar obstacles or struggles. Supporting, encouraging with one and other will only strengthen our community.
For this reason we have also created a My Place Facebook group. On this platform its members can share triumphs, successes and other positive news. In return members can give ” thumbs up”, praise and words of encouragement through positive messages. This group is all about encouraging each other and forming positive supports within the community.
