My Place Day Program offers a supportive and interactive community for adults with special needs, their families, and caregivers. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can thrive, grow, and develop meaningful connections.
We prioritize individual needs and desires, tailoring our programs to promote social skill development, fitness goal-setting, job search assistance, and public transit training. Through hands-on, experiential learning and positive role modeling, we empower our members to reach their full potential in a natural and relaxed yet structured setting. In response to the needs of our community, we are exploring options for aftercare and weekend care to accommodate caregivers with late work hours or weekend commitments. Additionally, we are considering extending our services to individuals aged 18 and above who require after-school support, ensuring a seamless transition to My Place as they transition from traditional schooling.

At My Place, we recognized a significant gap in the support system for individuals with special needs, particularly as they transition into adulthood. We asked the important question, ‘What happens to our young adults once they reach the age of 22?’ Unfortunately, the answer is often ‘nothing.’Determined to make a difference, we embarked on a journey of research and collaboration, engaging with professionals and families in the special needs community. Through these conversations, we identified an opportunity to bridge this gap and provide much-needed support and resources for young adults with special needs.With this inspiration, we established My Place, a dedicated program designed to empower and support individuals with special needs as they navigate the challenges of adulthood. Our goal is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where young adults can thrive, grow, and build meaningful connections.Together, let’s make My Place the first step in this journey of empowerment and inclusion.
